ABOUT ME

My name is Marissa and I’m a music/sound therapist, and piano teacher in the Louisville area. I completed my Bachelors of Music at Bellarmine University in 2017, and then completed my continuing education for Music Therapy at the University of Louisville in 2019. A couple years ago I finished my first course in sound healing, and have been growing my skills in both individual and group sound healing sessions. I’ve always been fascinated with sound and the power it holds, whether that be in a song, nature, or everyday life. It’s nice to meet you!

I like to describe it as just that- bathing in sound! It’s a time to disconnect from our fast paced environments, slow down for an hour, and restore ourselves. Using the crystal singing bowls help our bodies fall into their most relaxed state and that is when we can do the most healing from within- mind, body, and spirit. Bring a yoga mat, blanket, and pillow if you want to get extra cozy! The beginning of my sessions start with guided breathing and relaxation techniques, and then I let the singing bowls take over. Sessions are typically closed out with the rainstick and koshi chime, followed by a brass singing bowl. Then we all collectively take a few deep breaths in and out, and that completes the sound bath.

*Please let me know in advance if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or any metal implant, suffer from any kind of sound sensitive condition or have epilepsy.

“My experience at Marissa’s sound bath was so relaxing! I had no idea what to expect at first, but the guiding breathing in the beginning really set the tone and helped me drop into the zen that came throughout the entire sound bath. I truly felt so rested and stress free afterwards that as I left I remember just embracing the rest of the day without that tight pit of anxiety in my stomach that happens ever so often. Definitely recommend her sound baths!”
